Hourly recording studios from the Bronx to Boston, the kind of rooms an independent rapper can actually book. No rankings and no star ratings. Every listing says what the studio itself publishes, with the date we checked.

Six questions.
Every room.

What a session costs →
  1. What the hourly rate coversAsk whether an engineer is included or billed separately, and whether setup and bouncing count against your hours.
  2. Minimums and blocksA lot of rooms sell two-, four- or eight-hour blocks. Know the minimum before you plan a one-song session.
  3. Deposit and cancellationGet the deposit amount, the cancellation window and what happens if you run late, in writing, before you pay anything.
  4. What you walk out withA rough bounce, vocal stems, or the full session files? Say which you need, and in what format, when you book, not at the end of the night.
  5. Bring the beat rightBring a WAV of the instrumental, plus stems if you have them, at the producer’s sample rate. An MP3 off a YouTube upload costs you mix quality you can’t get back.
  6. Paper the splits before you leaveIf anyone else in the room wrote or produced, fill out a split sheet while everyone is still there.
How this list gets made

Sourced, dated, and not for sale as a ranking

Every studio here was checked against its own website: the address, rates, rooms and gear are what the studio publishes, and each listing links the pages we read. If a studio doesn’t post a rate, we don’t guess one. Studios are listed A to Z inside each city. Being listed is not an endorsement, and nobody here is affiliated with any studio.

Paid placements may come later. If they do, they’ll carry a visible Sponsored label on every page they appear on, and they won’t change what a listing says.

Run a studio?

Email contact@eastcoastrappers.comto correct your listing, add one, or have it taken down. Send it from your studio’s own domain or point us to the page on your site that shows the change, and we’ll update the listing and the check date.

Not ready to pay for a room?

Start with a first home setup, then come back when the songs are worth the hourly rate. When the record is done, here’s how to release it.
