EastCoastRappers.com is a gear guide and a history desk sharing one address. The gear half exists because most rap-adjacent shopping content is a rewritten spec sheet. The history half exists because the competition is the reason any of this got good.
How gear gets picked
Every item in the catalog has to answer one question: what specific job does this do in a rapper's chain, and what breaks if you skip it?If the honest answer is "nothing", it does not get listed. That is why the catalog is short, why a ten-dollar pop filter sits in the same list as a Neumann, and why acoustic panels outrank a microphone upgrade.
We do not accept payment for placement or ratings. Outbound links are affiliate links and we say so on the card, in the footer, on thedisclosure page, and again on the interstitial before you leave. Prices and availability belong to the retailer — confirm them there.
How we write about history
The rivalries desk runs on the public record: release dates, radio broadcasts, chart positions, and the records themselves. No rumor, no speculation about anybody's private life, no unsourced claims about living people, and no long lyric quotations we do not have the right to reprint.
We write about the 1990s coast dispute as documented history and as a loss, not as entertainment. The music that came out of that tension was extraordinary. What it cost was not worth it, and we are not going to write it like it was.
Independence
We are independent and unaffiliated. Nothing here is endorsed by, or speaks for, any artist, label, venue, promoter, retailer, Amazon, Spotify, or Apple. Artist names and marks appear for identification and commentary only.
